
Piešťany is the most significant spa resort of Slovakia. The main indications for a spa treatment in Piešťany are all forms of inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases, radicular syndromes and states after accidents and orthopaedic operations. The thermal sulphurous water and the curative mud are used as the base of the complex balneotherapy.
The town of Piešťany is located 80 km southeastern from Bratislava, easy reachable by car from the Bratislava or Vienna airport.

The spa of Rajecké Teplice is located in the northern part of Slovakia, near the city of Žilina, under the mountains of Malá Fatra. The oldest written record about the spa is from 14th century. In the 18th century the first analysis of the mineral water was done. The thermal water is used for the treatment of motor and nerve illnesses. In 1999 the spa resort was completely reconstructed. Within the reconstruction all the accommodation facilities were renovated. Full board is provided in several restaurants. In the spa complex guests find more opportunities for sport and recreation (tennis courts, squash, bowling, fitness center, rent of bicycles, beach volleyball)
The oldest written record about the spa is from 14th century. It was even visited by Roman legionnaires from the nearby camp in Trenčín - Laugaricia in 2nd century. Motor and nerve illnesses are treated here. The main treatment house from 1780 with a Hamman bathroom in an oriental style has an interesting architecture. A thermal swimming pool is very popular. During summer several cultural festivals are organized here (film festival, music festival, etc.)
